Niels is a corporate lawyer with a lot of experience in both the law practice and in business. He specializes in the development and management of employee participation plans. Examples are share participation plans, depositary receipts, option plans (ESOP), share appreciation rights (SAR plan), participation through Restricted Share Units (RSUs) and Performance Share Units (PSUs), and long term incentive plans. Furthermore, he is active in private equity and M&A transactions, in which he has many years of experience and an extensive track record.

In addition to excellent legal knowledge, he has a good financial and numerical understanding and affinity with financial models.

He has gained experience at, among others, the international law firm Clifford Chance and Maxeda (previously Vendex KBB), at the time the biggest non-food retailer in the Benelux, where he was Director Legal and also active in the role of Company Secretary and Group Compliance Officer.

Niels graduated in Corporate Law at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and also studied Economics and Informatics.
