Medal raises $13 million

Medal, a startup that is known for its video game clipping product, has raised $13 million at a valuation of $333 million from several investors, including Horizons Ventures, OMERS Ventures, Peak6 and Arcadia Investment Partners. The company also unveiled Highlight, a new cross-platform desktop app that acts as a contextual AI assistant for users. The app captures the content on your screen and lets you ask questions to a large language model (LLM) based on that context. We advised Medal in this equity financing round.

Other investors included Healthy.Capital, Rubio Impact Ventures and several angel investors. The investment is earmarked to augment the team, commercialize solutions, and accelerate customer deployments. HealthSage AI pioneers transformative healthcare solutions, notably the Note-to-FHIR model, empowering healthcare professionals with generative AI tools to seamlessly integrate unstructured data into healthcare systems. Aquabattery secures €6m seed investment

Aquabattery, a Dutch climate tech startup developing a saltwater long duration energy storage (LDES) solution, has closed a €6 million seed investment round. The round was led by EIT InnoEnergy and supported by InnovationQuarter, Invest-NL, Init Power, and a group of business angels. Aquabattery is developing a novel flow battery that can store clean electricity in table salt and water for 8 hours or longer. When charged, the battery converts saltwater into acid and base and reverses the process when discharged. The company is preparing to launch its fourth pilot battery in Delft later this autumn.
